When users reach your pricing page but don’t purchase, the problem is often hidden in real user behavior.

Record Campaigns in Monolytics help you capture full sessions of high-intent users, so you can later understand where and why they drop off.

This article explains what Record Campaigns are and how to create one for this exact use case.

What are Record Campaigns?

Record Campaigns allow you to record full user sessions, but only for users who match specific conditions.

You control:

  • visiting which pages trigger the recording
  • which users are included
  • which events must or must not happen
  • what user properties should user have in order to be recorded (this is not covered in the video)

This makes recordings focused, relevant, and easy to review.

Use case: pricing page without conversion

A common scenario is when users:

  • visit the pricing page
  • show clear purchase intent
  • but leave without completing a purchase

With Record Campaigns, you can record only these users, instead of watching random sessions.

Video: how to create a Record Campaign

Below is a short tutorial showing how to set up a Record Campaign that filters high-intent users who didn’t convert.

In the tutorial, we create a campaign that:

  • records full user sessions
  • triggers only if the user visited the pricing page
  • limits the campaign to a fixed number of sessions
  • optionally filters users by traffic source
  • targets first-time visitors
  • focuses on mobile users
  • includes users with the product_view event (we assume that you are using this event to mark users who viewed your product)
  • excludes users with the purchase event (we assume that you are using this event to mark users who purchased your product)

This ensures the campaign captures only users who almost converted, but didn’t.

Where recordings appear

Once the campaign is running, recorded sessions become available in the Data tab.

From there, recordings can be:

  • filtered
  • reviewed
  • or explored using the Research module

Analysis is covered in a separate tutorial.

Why this approach works

Instead of guessing why conversions fail, Record Campaigns let you start with the right users.

You don’t record everything.

You record only what matters.
